CHOOSE YOUR APPROACH
A practical first choice for confirmed rats or mice indoors, where you can place and check traps daily. A catch gives you a clear result and lets you remove the rodent straight away.
For a confirmed rodent problem, suitable bait may be an option where its label allows use. A lockable bait station helps prevent children, pets and wildlife from reaching the poison, while rodents enter to feed. Check and replenish the bait as its label directs.
Using poison indoors? Rats or mice may die beneath floors or behind walls, causing an unpleasant smell where the body is difficult to reach. Traps in accessible positions let you find and remove the catch.
KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT
Mice are usually more curious about new objects, so trapping is often more straightforward. Rats can be wary of a new trap or bait station for several days. This is called neophobia — a fear of new things. Give a well-placed setup time rather than moving it after one quiet night.
COVER THE ACTIVE ROUTES
Activity in several places? Use more than one trap or bait station to cover the routes where you find signs. Several well-placed points often work better than relying on a single spot. For poison, follow the bait label for the number of points, spacing and amount at each one.
